The  purpose  of  the  First  Person  on  Scene  (FPOS)  qualifications  is  to  provide immediate   life  support to the patient pending the arrival of definitive pre-Hospital  care.

Clinical endorsement for the FPOS qualifications is by the Royal College of Surgeons Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (Edinburgh). Whilst achievement confirms that individuals have met both the theoretical and practical requirements, this does not imply the ‘license to practice’ - the scope of which will be for the employing organisation to determine. The qualifications and any additional units are valid for a period of 3 years. Periodic re-training and assessment for both the practical skills and supporting knowledge will therefore be required. Assessment of supporting knowledge for the FPOS qualifications will be through test papers provided by Edexcel delivered through accredited centres.

FPOS INTERMEDIATE

The need for having relevant medical qualifications in the protective industries is essential. Not only is it a requirement of the SIA to have First Aid at Work as a minimum in order to qualify for the SIA licence, it is the responsibility of any true protection specialist to be adequately prepared should a medical emergency arise involving their VIP.

Sometimes, in extreme circumstances, it could be a matter of life or death.

Here at IST-Academy we understand that those working in the industry have different roles as protectors, they may also have different requirements when it comes to medical training. Hence or portfolio of suitable medical courses reflects these needs.
